Smart Task Oriented Robotics Missions

TU S.T.O.R.M. 2005

High School Autonomous Robotics Competition

On the opening date of the competition, each team will be able to check out an identical TU custom-build robot, specialized software with documentation, and a complete description of each mission to be completed together with the scoring rules. At the end of the competition each robot will be checked back into TU. The schools will be responsible for the robots while on their care. Interested schools will be provided with a list of components, vendors, and technical assistance if they would like to build their own robot for use in the classroom.

The required equipment that each school must be able to provide its team, is a computer that has a serial port and is running some version of Microsoft Windows, preferably a laptop running Windows XP. This laptop needs to be available for the trials and competition days so the team can make adjustments to their robot control programs.

Each school will be resposible to make their own Practice Fields and Objects. The minimal supplies necessary are as follows.
