Booker T. Washington High School

A public magnet school located in North Tulsa, Booker T. Washington High School is all about tradition.

We have an excellent academic tradition, and the top priority of our school is to prepare students for college. Our Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs propelled us to the 58th rank in Newsweek's list of top 1000 schools in 2005.

We are also committed to our extracurricular activities. Our football team was ranked in the nation's Top 100, and our Academic Bowl won 2nd in Oklahoma.

Our Activity Period allows us to take part in many of these activites. This is a scheduled time during the week when students can choose an activity, such as robotics, in which to participate.

Diversity is of the utmost importance at BTW. Traditionally an all-black school, it was desegregated in 1973 when the magnet program was started. Now, the school attracts students from all over the Tulsa district. Diversity is still a crucial part of our program, and it is part of what we believe helps us be so successful.
