The Robot

Given the game requirements set forth by the Overdrive game, TU Engineering and BTW High school students set out to build the best possible design that would accomplish the goal of lifting the track ball onto the monkey bars.

Several tower and manipulator designs have been suggested, prototyped, and tested. A pictorial slideshow of the development of the robot can be viewed by visiting our media page. The current tower design is able to lift the track ball off the ground, and place it on the overpass. The implementation we are currently using also allows us to knock balls off of the overpass at the beginning of the game, thereby earning us bonus points.
