The Robot

Given the game requirements set forth by the Rack N' Roll game, TU Engineering and BTW High school students set out to build the best possible design that would accomplish the goal of placing inner tubes on the structure quickly and providing a lifting mechanism to win bonus points.

Several arm designs have been suggested, prototyped, and tested. A pictorial slideshow of the development of the robot can be viewed by visiting our media page. The current arm design is able to lift inner tubes off the ground, carry the inner tubes around the court, and place them on each of the 3 levels of the game structure. The implementation we are currently using also allows for inner tubes already placed on the structure to be picked off, although this is more time consuming and has been determined not a valid game strategy at this point in time.

Parts for the robot have been donated by BTW high school, The University of Tulsa, Enquip Inc., and other sponsors. More information about our sponsors can be found on our sponsors page.
